Ranking The Four Goalies Remaining In The NHL Playoffs

Edited by John Stokes

The online sports betting experts are seeing some great hockey as the NHL conference finals get under way. Every hockey fan and betting enthusiast knows that it is goaltending that wins games in the playoffs and this season is no exception. There are plenty of great players on each team, but the four remaining goaltenders are going to be the keys to winning for each of their teams.

Here we take a look at the remaining goaltenders and rank them in order. This is based on performance so far in the playoffs and experience in taking their team to the big dance.

1) Jonathan Quick – Los Angeles Kings

The live sports betting experts are going to give the nod to the reigning Conn Smythe winner, Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings. Quick has shown again and again that he is able to come up with saves that keep the Kings in tough games. With Quick in net in the playoffs, the Los Angeles Kings know that two goals could win the game. That is a relief for Los Angeles fans because the Kings always seem to have problems scoring in the playoffs.

2) Tomas Vokoun – Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins had to make the hard realization that former Stanley Cup winning goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury is just not responding well to the pressure anymore. To solve the problem, the Penguins brought in veteran Tomas Vokoun. Despite having Vokoun on the bench, the Penguins gave Fleury one last shot to retain his job, but Fleury was benched after game three of the opening round and Vokoun has been the net minder ever since. Vokoun does not have Stanley Cup finals experience, but he is playing like he does.

3) Tuukka Rask – Boston Bruins

Any doubts about whether or not Tuukka Rask could backstop the Bruins to a Stanley Cup finals berth were put to rest when Rask shutout Vokoun and the Penguins in game one of the Eastern Conference finals. But Rask is still very young and he is still an emotional player. As long as his emotions do not get the best of him, then he could be a Stanley Cup champion. But he will have to prove to the hockey world that he can control those emotions as the Bruins move closer to a Stanley Cup finals berth.

4) Corey Crawford – Chicago Blackhawks

Corey Crawford has a really bad habit of giving up the first goal of a game and allowing that goal to be a soft one. But so far, he has been able to recover himself each time and help push his team to victory. But Crawford is definitely the unknown factor in these playoffs and there are those who think that we may see Ray Emery in net for Chicago before the playoffs are over.
